The Equal Opportunities Unit at the Secretariat-General of the Representatives Council and the Woman and Child Affairs Committee have extended sincere congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the International Women’s Day.

The panels lauded the efforts exerted by the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), led by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King, to achieve the principles of equal opportunities and gender equality, praising the SCW’s support for the State’s efforts to confront the effects of the novel coronavirus pandemic, through the launch of the “Together for the Safety of Bahrain” campaign, as well as for its success in enhancing Bahraini women’s advancement across various fields, under HM the King’s comprehensive development march.
The two committees praised the major role played by the Representatives Council, led by Speaker Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal, to develop women-related laws and legislation, in cooperation with the relevant institutions, to bring about more achievements for Bahraini women.

They also extended deepest gratitude to Bahraini women working at the frontline, within Team Bahrain.
