Dr. Mustafa Al Sayed, the Secretary-General of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), and Hassan Moosa Shafaei, Bahrain’s Acting Chargé d'Affaires to the United Nations in Geneva, participated in the Global Refugee Forum (GRF). Co-organized by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Swiss government, the GRF saw the attendance of heads of state, ministers, and more than 3500 participants from various countries.

Addressing the forum, Dr. Al Sayed conveyed greetings and appreciation from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to the participants, along with HM's wishes for the success of this significant global event. He highlighted that the RHF's work is aligned with HM King Hamad's directives and the support of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, and Prime Minister. Dr. Al Sayed also commended His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King's Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, for leading the RHF's humanitarian efforts.

Dr. Al Sayed emphasized Bahrain's commitment to the global responsibility towards refugees, victims of natural disasters, wars, and conflicts. He detailed Bahrain's humanitarian contributions, including the construction of schools, medical centers, water purification units, artesian water wells, and public libraries. The RHF has delivered relief materials such as medicine, food, and tents to various countries, benefiting Palestine, Sudan, Somalia, Nepal, the Philippines, Egypt, and others without discrimination.

He underscored the RHF's success in providing health, educational, and development services to refugees and displaced persons while preserving their dignity through a creative project implementation approach.

Regarding the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip, Dr. Al Sayed affirmed Bahrain's swift humanitarian aid delivery to Gaza, including agreements to treat children with cancer and the wounded in Jordanian hospitals. Bahrain has also contributed to building a field hospital, a 500-unit residential complex, and a school in Gaza. Dr. Al Sayed announced the continuation of the RHF's donation campaign and the launch of a new initiative to obtain medical devices in good condition from government or private hospitals for those in Gaza who urgently need them due to the destruction of most hospitals in the region.
