After an embassy personnel tested positive for Covid-19 the Royal Thai Embassy in Bahrain announced the closure of its premises. 

In its public notice, the embassy stated that on Saturday, one of the embassy personnel’s tested positive and in line with this the embassy will be closed from August 09 until the 22nd. 

The premises will be thoroughly disinfected, and the rest of the embassy staff will be checked for Covid-19 and undergo a period in self-quarantine, in compliance with the relevant guidelines issued by the government of Bahrain.

The embassy also said that flights scheduled for the repatriation of Thai nationals on August 9 and 11 will be postponed, and no special flights back to Thailand will be organized until the situation is resolved according to social media. 

Last week, Albilad had reported that the Philippines Embassy announced the closure of its premises after two of frontline personnel tested positive for Covid-19.

The Ministry of Health has reiterated that the early detection of active cases provides quicker isolation, treatment and recovery response, as well as reducing the number of cases flagged by contact tracing efforts.

Individuals experiencing COVID-19 symptoms are urged to contact the 444 hotline number and follow the guidelines provided. The Ministry of Health has been sending messages to citizens to take precautions to reduce the risk of contracting the Coronavirus.
