The China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) reported a 34.3 percent year-on-year surge in mobile phone shipments in China, reaching over 31.21 million units in November.

According to Xinhua, CAICT, a research institution under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, revealed that 5G mobile phones constituted the majority of November shipments, totaling 27.09 million units and experiencing a 51.2 percent year-on-year expansion.

In the same month, domestic brands maintained their dominance in China's mobile phone industry, witnessing a 26.5 percent year-on-year increase in shipments to 25.44 million units.

CAICT stated that total cellphone shipments for the first 11 months of the year grew by 7.1 percent year on year, reaching 261 million units.
