His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Is Sworn In As The 17th Amir Of Kuwait

His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah was sworn in as the 17th Amir of Kuwait during a special National Assembly session on Wednesday.
"I solemnly swear by Almighty Allah to respect the Constitution and the laws of the State, to safeguard the liberties, interests, and properties of the people, and to defend the independence and territorial integrity of the country," proclaimed HH the Amir, citing Article 60 of the Constitution.
The Amiri Diwan announced the passing of the late Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah last Saturday, and the cabinet officially designated His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah as the 17th Amir of Kuwait.
