Manama, Sept. 21 (BNA): The Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health at Health Ministry Dr. Mariam Al Hajri, hailed the role of medical personnel, especially those working in the front lines, in combating COVID-19,as they have proven their efficiency and ability to combat the pandemic.

She said that to date, 13,332,75 laboratory tests have been made to detect coronavirus,noting that the number of cases is constantly increasing during recent times due to leniency in following the precautionary measures. 

Dr. Al Hajri called on reducing gatherings, wearing masks in public and avoid going out unless necessary.

The assistant undersecretary stressed that the ministry continues to raise awareness campaigns in cooperation with the National Taskforce for Combating Coronavirus.
