“Anonymous Facebook pages bearing the names of local newspapers and publishing fake news were detected. This was announced by the Anti-Cyber Crime Directorate at the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption, Economic and Electronic Security. 

The directorate noted these anonymous pages included links which, when pressed, might infiltrate computers and mobile phones.

In this context, the Director-General of the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption, Economic and Electronic Security called on users of social media to report these fraudulent pages,. He said that these pages deliberately publish lies and allegations which, he assured, were unfounded and aimed at creating confusion and prejudice the social fabric. 

He called upon all social media users to be careful and make sure to extract information from their official sources.
