The Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations Office and other international organisations in Geneva, Ambassador Dr. Yusuf AbdulKarim Bucheeri, and the Minister Plenipotentiary in the mission, Hassan Musa Shafi’i, today met at the headquarters of the Permanent Mission, the Director of the Field Operations and Technical Cooperation Division, Christian Salazar Volkmann, in the presence of the Chief of the Middle East and North Africa Section, Mohammad Alnsour, on the occasion of the appointment of Christian Salazar at the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.

The Permanent Representative expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s congratulations to Christian Salazar on his appointment to the Office of the High Commissioner, stressing the Kingdom’s desire to achieve more cooperation and effective partnership by providing technical assistance in the field of protection and promotion of human rights, in order to further contribute to the advancement of the system of human rights within the reform and democratic approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

He also expressed the Kingdom's desire for fruitful cooperation with the Office of the High Commissioner and its eagerness to work closely with it, to advance the international system for the protection and promotion of human rights.
