
Bahrain has imported cellphones worth of BD66.1 million over the last 11 months, according to a media report.
The month with the highest import bill was November when devices worth BD12.2 million were imported to the kingdom, Al Watan newspaper reported.
The second highest bill was footed in April with imported cellphones worth BD9.6 million followed by January with BD8.8 million, according to the report.
In July, the kingdom imported cellphones worth BD7.1 million and in June the bill was valued at BD5.2 million, the report said.
There was no explanation for divergence in monthly import bills.
In recent months, Bahrain has taken a series of steps to mitigate repercussions of COVID-19 on the national economy and shore up job market stability.
